Stephen Munyakho was slated to be executed on Wednesday for the murder of a man in 2011.

BBC reports that it could have been done by decapitation, hanging, lethal injection or firing squad.

However, the execution has been temporarily postponed.

Munyakho, a Kenyan, had gone to work in Saudi Arabia in his early 20s some 13 years ago.

He was a warehouse manager at a Red Sea tourist resort.

According to Munyakho’s mother, her son had a dispute with a colleague. The colleague stabbed Stevo with a letter opener.

That one retaliated. However, the other man died.

Initially, he was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to a prison term of five years.

But an appeal, heard in 2014, changed the sentence to the capital punishment.

However, the family of the deceased was convinced by Kenya officials in Saudi Arabia to take the diya offer of blood money.

That too, has been long and difficult. Stevo’s family is looking for the sum of 950,000 dollars.

However, the family is yet to find the money and time is ticking!
