Thousands of people protested on Thursday in the Swedish city of Malmo against Israel’s participation in the Eurovision song contest.
The city was hosting its second semi-final in which Israel’s Eden Golan performed. Ms Golan had earlier been booed on Wednesday during a rehearsal of her song.
However, the crowd’s response was mixed on Thursday. There were cheers and boos.
Before Ms Golan’s performance, individuals supporting Israel and Palestine took to the streets.
Among those who attended the pro-Palestinian demonstration was climate activist, Greta Thunberg. She told the BBC that there was a “moral obligation to act” and to speak against Israel’s military operations in Gaza.
Ms Golan had earlier said that she was “proud to represent my country”.
