Some Thinking! – Adewale Sobowale

There’s a new executive law by Kano State government, in Nigeria, that members of the opposite sex must not ride in the same tricycles from January, 2020.

This is nothing but an example of faulty thinking that’s prevalent in various levels of government. Apart from the fact that the governnor should be sued by the House of Assembly to test which body should have been responsible for making such laws, may I ask if that’s what we need in our poverty stricken state.

Other fundamental questions are crossing my mind.

How many tricycles are operated by women in Kano State? Or, if it is harami for men to ride with women, would it not be a case of what is good for the goose is also good for the gander?

Abi!

Let’s imagine a woman who happens to be in labor and needs to be helped to the hospital by her husband in a situation where there’s only one tricycle available.

Would it include air transportation too?

I believe our rulers could certainly perform better!
