The Super Eagles are currently the toast of Nigerians.
Of course!
At least, they’re performing well and we have hope they’ll lift the trophy come Sunday.
But then, according to The Guardian of 1st January 2024, the allocation of the Federal Government of Nigeria to the ministry of sports, which includes the Nigeria Football Federation, is 31.24 billion naira. The amount is about 0.11% of the budget.
Meanwhile, the Vice President and two governors were reportedly in Ivory Coast for the semifinal. What about principal members of the national assembly?
I think Aso Rock, the National Assembly and their counterparts in all states should be moved to Ivory Coast on Saturday in preparation for the finals on Sunday.
Why?
So that the politicians will learn better dribbling skills against the rest of us.
I know they’ll lodge in free hotels and they’ll be fasting for the players. They’ll even spend their own money on transport.
That’s their sacrifice for the nation.
They’re very patriotic.
And when they get back, they would have learnt new tricks about how to dribble Nigerians.
Na person wey no wise fast dey shake.
Awo se tan, awo nlo!!!
