I remember a friend posted that when some people are paid their monthly salary, they’ll go prostrating for their bosses as if they’ve done them a favor,
So it is for our people in Lagos and Abia states as they are reacting to the Red Rail and Electricity projects recently launched in their respective states.
While I’m congratulating the people for their servants solving a little of their problems, I don’t think it’s appropriate for me to congratulate those governments.
Why?
In the first instance, that’s the job they were elected to do and I’m not aware they’re using their personal monies to do the jobs.
Did anyone bother to ask why the projects took as long as five terms of a governor in office to complete the projects? While the projects were waiting for completion, what happened to the funds? Were they kept in a bank or had they been paid to the contractors? Did the projects have to be renegotiated?
More and more questions should be asked.
But I remember the term of a governor in my state of origin when the normal thing to say is yin ni yin ni keni semi, that’s if you appreciate a gesture, another one may be done.
Haha!
We don’t have to behave as if the governors are doing us a favor.
I congratulate the people of the two states once again!
