That the governor of Rivers state of Nigeria ordered the demolition of two hotels is no longer news. According to unconfirmed sources, he personally led demolition squad!
Of course, in a state where there’s enough accommodation for everyone, the governor is free to do as he pleases, even without a court order.
In a land when most people are blind to reason, the only person who’s lucky to have just an eye will be king. There’s a common saying among my people that, ‘Oju aanu ti fo, t’ika l’oku’, that is out of two eyes, the merciful one is already blind leaving the wicked one.
The action of Mr Wike is simply irresponsible and unstatesmanlike. His so called executive order amounts to executive recklessness and executive rascality.
I’m sure the last is yet to be heard on the matter!
