Why have Southwesterners in Nigeria done this to themselves?
Before I proceed, the few who have been reading my scribblings will bear testimony to the fact that I don’t believe Nigeria should split into various nations.
I earnestly believe if we could work for a true federation, there’s a silver lining for us. By the way, how many nations shall the country break into if we decide to split?
Will the current political actors be eliminated?
It’s the failure of the educated elites to go out there and fight for their birthright that have put us in a fix, I mean the patriotic ones.
That’s why people who should have been footsoldiers are now our heroes.
Take Sunday Igboho, for instance, necessity has forced us into recognising him.
For all I care, his statement that he would fight those who campaign for political posts in Nigeria is pathetic.
Pathetic because he, apparently, knows nothing about freedom of choice. Does he know anything about human rights?
If we aren’t careful, we’ll dump all our remaining freedoms into the hands of local dictators!
