We’ve Got Body! Body La Ni!! – Adewale Sobowale

Mr Buhari’s so-called address on COVID 19 is a very interesting one. In the first instance, if according to sources, the address is twenty-three seconds long, that would be almost equal to the number of COVID 19 cases reported in Nigeria as at Sunday morning which is thirty.

In the address, the president actually highlights the palliatives the Nigerian government is applying to make lives better for Nigerians while the pandemic lasts.

We should thank the president for offering to pay civil servants twelve months salaries. Even those who are looking for work will benefit from the largesse.

Also, all the known patients will be quarantined in air conditioned hotel rooms at government expense. After all, what do we have oil for? The Abacha loot is also there.

The president has been gracious enough to order the opening of the national food reserves. This will serve people who are hungry very well.

The President’s being quiet all along has really proved to be worth its while. The president’ S kindness is forcing Nigerians who are abroad to rush home in order to have a taste of the action.

Who no wan better tin?

There’s a popular joke in Nigeria. When people are facing hard times but do not look famished, they tell those who care to listen, ‘I only have body, I don’t have an engine.’
