The gubernatorial election of Ekiti State has been won by exgomina, Fayemi. I hope we’re all happy now
I’m not a fan of Fayose, but may I ask Ekiti people how he got into power? May I ask Nigerians how that Dundee gomina; or member of the house managed to warm his crooked way into our hearts and thus qualify to represent us.
The hard fact is that most of us are poor. I’m not talking of material poverty here but intellectual poverty. By the way, did you know that with intellectual savvy, material poverty could be a thing of the past.
Saying Ekiti is the home of stomach infrastructure is calling the devil a bad name in order to hang it.
I can vividly remember the days of of the second republic. It got to a stage when late Chief Awolowo had to tell his UPN supporters to collect money from NPN chieftains but know where their consciences were.
That’s just one out of a plethora of instances to show that Nigerian politics has always been that of cash. Maybe the only exemption was when Awolowo was premier of the old Western region.
But then, the people saw the results of democracy. Even before some European nations had television, Nigeria already had in the old WNTV. Not only that, he went on to achieve so many firsts.
People hardly needed to be forced to pay their taxes simply because they were seeing what their monies were being used for. Indeed, I think those were the good days of Nigeria.
Now what do we have?
Hunger unlimited, for knowledge and for food. It’s such a pity. But then, we the people are just doing , ‘siddon look’ waiting for when it will be our turn to ‘chop’.
Personally I don’t believe Fayose started stomach infrastructure. I believe NAIJA politics has always been that of money!
