I was briefly there yesterday.
Since I had an appointment for 3 pm, I couldn’t stay for as long as I would have wished.
But I didn’t depart until I bought one book, was given three, and got some business cards. I promised myself that I must be there tomorrow.
So, today, I’m here like I promised.
I’m talking about Toronto’s biggest literary festival, called The Word On The Street. It is a national celebration of literacy and Canadian writing.
Many publishers and authors are here. The vibes here are just cool because most of the authors are not tired of explaining what prompted them to do their work, what the process is and their work in progress.
The publishers, too, are something else. They take the pains to explain the publishing process.
I buy a book from a young lady. But not until after she has explained what prompted her to write.
I’ve found the book so intriguing and unputdownable!
