I hear the Nigerian state of Niger has renamed its airport after Mr Bola Tinubu, Nigeria’s president.
After hearing the news, the songs that came to my mind were those of Nat King Cole and French Montana, titled “Unforgettable”.
Of course, for those who are unaware, we have Tinubu Square in Lagos. It is named after Madame Tinubu. Apart from being a wealthy merchant, she was also known as a “transporter.”
However, her own brand of transportation was trading enslaved people!
What a name to be remembered?
We should rename that square after people of better use in our society!
Fast forward to the present…
I believe the authorities in Niger state would be great ironists.
While at it, let’s name all airports, seaports, roads, government houses, newly born children, and what else after Mr Tinubu, for he has done so well.
At least he didn’t fail in his campaign promise that he would continue with the suffering his predecessors bequeathed on Nigerians!
I know with certainty that a king who performs well can never be forgotten by history, not to talk of a king who does otherwise!!
