The authorities in the UK have revealed tempting salaries for skilled workers in jobs hit by shortages.
The Daily Mail reports that with a new migration crackdown, most foreign workers will have to earn at least 38,700 pounds to qualify for a skilled worker visa from Friday.
The Home Secretary James Cleverly announced the changes last year because according to him, net migration was “far too high”.
But workers can still apply for a visa for jobs with a lower salary if their role is on the UK immigration salary list.
The list covers occupations that are highly in demand and they include a minimum salary requirement.
The salaries range from 30,960 pounds for bricklayers to 37,500 pounds for theatre directors. Biological scientists will earn 41,900 pounds.
However, in the Health and Care Worker jobs, where most immigrants work, the salary is 29,000 pounds. A large proportion of care workers are from India, Nigeria and Zimbabwe.
