Trapped? – Adewale Sobowale

Did you know that only a few actually understand the fact that they are embedded in a trap?

Yes!

When you try to keep up with the Jonesses and you sincerely know you’re living a lie, then, you’re in a trap!

Well, the yuletide is here. For your information, it’s a cycle that keeps repeating itself annually. That means there’s nothing so new about Christmas and New Year.

I’m talking about our preparation for the Christmas and the New Year that follows it. Some might not know it’s natural for people to have tough times. I mean when people are unable to live up to their responsibilities.

Did you know that tough times don’t last? But then, it depends on your attitude to life.

So, you’re bothered because you’re not able to buy new clothes. Or are you bothered that you’re not able to buy new shoes?

If you don’t get them this year, does that mean you can’t get them forever?

Okay! You’re worried you don’t have the means to provide for your family in the usually showy way. While I empathize with you, I implore you to reflect over your own life. When you do, you can’t but see a few reasons why you should thank God.

That’s why I always say, ‘Count your blessings’, is my favorite song.

By the way, although I’m not God and can’t ever be, but I guess He’s much more interested in our faith than our celebration.

Now, I’m pleading with you to go out there and make impacts instead of filling yourself with self guilt.

I should think you’re better off preparing for January and it’s many responsibilities like school fees and house rents than brooding over some obviously vain celebration!
