The former President did not appoint the right people to the right posts. That’s probably where he missed it.
For instance, he should have put the lady he appointed as petroleum minister in charge of the central bank.
She has proved to be a spendthrift. And, what’s more. She has a large heart.
If she had headed the central bank, Nigeria might not be in economic recession now.
She knew how to spend money. And she did the best she could, given the limited resources.
She was a fashion icon, so she dressed well. She loved mobility and she spent on yachts, jets and vehicles.
She loved desres, so she acquired a lot of buildings situated in the right places.
If she had been in charge of the central bank, the bank would have invested in every thing under the sun. It’s another matter if they would be useful in making Nigeria a great country in the comity of nations.
I hear the President is OK now. He is ready to come home.
One thing of importance he must do when he resumes is to appoint Madam Diezani the central bank Governor. Then, the economy of this nation will be far better. She will pull the economy from the morass of economic recession.
