At the rate the Yoruba people are going, the number of bastards will eventually be much more than those born genuinely!
Well, should ‘genuinely’ even be the right word?
Why?
So many proponents of Oduduwa or Odua or Yoruba or, even, Lamurudu Republic are ‘short fused’ (remember that phrase?) when others differ from their opinion.
They are, indeed, frustrated. They then go to the extent of name-calling.
One of the most common names they call people who do not see things their way is ‘bastard’. But they seem to have forgotten something.
It takes a bastard to know another!
There’s a Yoruba saying that, all of us can’t sleep and turn our heads to the same spot. For those of us who do not see the usefulness of a split at this point in time, we wouldn’t mind being convinced beyond reasonable doubts that, ‘…to your tents, O Israel’, remains the best option.
The best option to take our people out of perennial hunger. The best option for our people to have the most basic amenities. The best option to stem the tide of misgovernance.
And last, but by no means the least, the best option to share the resources of the commonwealth without fear or favour!
