The wife and daughter of a migrant laborer who was killed in Haryana, India, are being supported by the Bengal government.
India Today reports that Sabir Malik was beaten to death by five people for eating beef on August 28.
The lynching sparked widespread outrage and drew attention to issues of communal violence and discrimination.
However, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her support to the widow and four-year-old daughter of Malik, a migrant laborer from the state.
Banerjee provided the widow with a government job as part of a compensation package and assured her that her government would take over the responsibility for the child’s education.
Justice meted out to the alleged murderers are not mentioned!
