For the avoidance of any doubt about the topic, in as much as I believe Nigeria could exist as a (con)federal entity, I believe we still exist as a collection of glorified nations.
Those who have that belief would hardly be surprised by the goings on in Nigeria. To make matters worse, the colonial military elements and their hangers on feel they have a sense of entitlement to the geographical expression called Nigeria
That’s why a country so blessed with mineral, agricultural and human resources is yet to find its berth among the comity of nations. Indeed, Nigeria is, more or less, a laughing stock among other countries.
I’m really feeling pained that so little could be done by Nigeria in terms of palliatives for citizens at difficult times like this.
So, what could have happened to all the petro-dollars? What happened to all the billions we normally hear in budgetary allocations? What about all the fanciful projects like OFN, Better Life, etc?
We needn’t look too far. The answer does lie with the different administrators. I mean the past heads of state. The incumbent is also one of them.
I know most of them are still alive. They are enjoying their illicit wealth in houses of many bedrooms. May be God is deliberately sparing their lives for a great inquisition.
But until then, we remain a collection of screwed nations!
