COVID 19 is undoubtedly taking so many lives. Even though it’s a pandemic, there’s no clear certainty about its origin yet. Its cure remains even more shrouded in mystery.
However, it has succeeded in showing the different shades of administration throughout the globe.
While in most of the civilized world, it’s as if the respective governments were actually expecting the eventuality, in the underdeveloped world, we’re seeing clearly the unpreparedness of our governments.
The developed world has shown us that governments are there to serve the people. They have also shown us that people are free to make demands from government.
But in the underdeveloped world, we’re still susceptible to worshipping our so called rulers. Indeed, they feel they are doing us a favor by ruling us.
Compared to the developed world, how many underdeveloped countries are offering qualitative palliatives to their citizens at these times.
Nigeria, the so called giant of Africa, remains an embarrassment. Right from mismanaged cash palliatives to idiotic food materials that even dogs will refuse.
But then, we will still go and vote for our rapists at the end of their terms. I can’t help wondering if they have succeeded in ‘jujufying’ us. That’s because, like dogs, we keep going back to our vomit.
A people will always deserve its ruling elite!
