The Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) for Essex in the United Kingdom has asked the Government to stop sending migrants to “unsuitable” hotels.

The MailOnline reports that Roger Hirst said he had written to the Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, outlining the “unsuitability” of the Bell Hotel in Epping for housing asylum seekers.

The hotel has become the focus of anti-migrant-feeling after one of its guests was charged with sexually assaulting two teenage girls a few days after arriving in Britain.

The migrant, however, denied the allegation.

The attack led to protests on July 13, 17, and 20. The latest happened on Thursday evening.

The police commissioner said the demonstrations were “disrupting local life” and “placing an unwelcome burden” on police resources.

He wrote on the Essex PFCC website that, “I have today written to the Home Secretary, requesting to discuss the ongoing use of hotels in the Epping Forest District of Essex, and elsewhere in the county, to accommodate newly arrived asylum seekers.

“Specifically, I am seeking to highlight the unsuitability of The Bell Hotel in Epping for this purpose, and request that its use be reviewed.

“The presence of asylum seeker accommodation in this district is clearly creating community tension. These large-scale protests are disrupting local life and placing an unwelcome burden on Essex Police resources.”

Police had to install metal barriers outside two migrant hotels a couple of days ago following angry protests.

The man, Ethiopian asylum-seeker Gerberslassie Kebatu was charged with some sexual offences days after arriving in the UK. He was arrested by officers after reports of a man acting inappropriately towards some people.

He appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on July 10 and denied all the offences. On July 17, he was charged with three counts of sexual assault and one count of inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity. He was also charged with harassment without violence
