Dino Osmanovic came to Canada under the federal Temporary Foreign Worker Program in 2021 with hopes of having his family follow him.

Chek News reports that in January, limits were placed on temporary residents bringing their spouses and children to the country.

Now, Osmanovic is appealing to the federal government to help him bring his family to Canada.

Osmanovic who works as a chef at the Roast and Meat and Sandwich Shop at the Victoria Public Market has a reputation for hard work.

His employer, Maryanne Carmack said, “Dino is amazing. His energy is always positive. People come here just to see him, just to say, ‘hello’. He makes amazing food too. And he is a trustworthy, loyal, employee. “

Osmanovic wants to bring his wife and four children to Canada from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He’s only seen them twice since his arrival in Canada.

He says, “My family is everything to me. Because if there is no option, what can I do? I must leave.”
