Peck And Go! – Adewale Sobowale

While citizens and the governments of other countries are going about the business of making their systems even greater, it’s been discovered that the important problem of Nigeria and Nigerians is the spirit of ‘peck and go’!

Starting from the government, people will struggle to enthrone a regime. But what do they get, the government pecks the commonwealth and elopes.

What about churches? The faithful do struggle to help the clerics set up their churches. But when the churches become the toast of society, they become the pastors’ properties. For instance, only pastors’ children are good enough to be posted abroad. Meanwhile, the people who were used as canon fodders in establishing the churches are hardly able to send their wards to the educational institutions founded by those churches.

The madness going on in the bedrooms of some Islamic clerics is gradually being exposed.

Some musicians sowing their wild seed oats since they are farmers are gradually being exposed. Having children outside wedlock is no problem in African societies. However, failing to be there for the children is a total act of irresponsibility.

At the end of the day, when those children find their ways to the top such wicked fathers will be the first to claim them.

Since Nigeria is known for prayers, we must pray against the spirit of ‘peck and go’!
