As part of its mission to prevent unnecessary deaths from radon-induced lung cancer, Ecosense, a global leader in cutting-edge radon detection devices, recently formed a partnership with the Canadian government agency Health Canada.

NetNewsLedger.com reports that the collaboration supports both organizations’ efforts to raise awareness of radon exposure. and to promote the case of digital radon detection technology during Radon Action Month, which occurs each year in November.

Based in the heart of Silicon Valley, California, Ecosense is an innovator in the radon monitoring industry whose award-winning products have improved the quality of health for users in more than 25 countries around the world. Its intelligent, highly accurate radon detectors use patented ion chamber technology to safeguard omes, educational campuses, assisted living centres, community centres, and commercial buildings from dangerous accumulation of radon gas.

“Ecosense is strongly committed to making radon detection and monitoring easy, accurate, and fast,” shares Insoo Park, Founder and CEO of Ecosense. “The highl performance technology we’ve developed provides the first radon level measurement within 10 minutes of powering up, with reliable follow-up results in just one hour. It’s a life-saving tech innovation that allows users to identify dangerous radon levels in hours, whereas other home monitors require days.”

The new partnership, one of many Ecosense has established with organizations dedicated to reducing radon exposure, was part of Health Canada’s multi-tiered “Knowvember” initiative. The campaign focused on strengthening radon education in rural and underserved communities and also featured a Health Canada-authored Op-Ed published during Radon Action Month.

The Canadian government reports that radon-induced lung cancer causes an estimated 3,200 deaths annually in the country representing roughly 16 percent of lung cancer deaths. It explains that the risk of lung cancer from radon gas exposure is “significant but preventable” and points to testing as the only way to identify your individual radon risk.

Health Canada encourages long-term tests for the most accurate assessment of radon threats, explaining that indoor radon levels “can vary a lot from hour-to-hour and day-to-day.” Continuous radon monitors like those offered by Ecosense capture these fluctuations in real time, whereas traditional short-term, one-time tests may miss critical spikes.

The radon monitor operates as a simple plug-and-play device that requires no Wi-Fi connection or complicated setup. The device provides instant readings in real-time, along with daily, weekly, and monthly averages, to help users make informed decisions to mitigate radon levels.
