Our Duties! – Adewale Sobowale

What are those things we ought to have done that we’re failing to do?

What are those things we ought not to have done that have become kárí ilé, asọ oní súgà for us?

Do we belong to political parties? How much do we pay as membership fees?

These questions are fundamental because if we don’t belong to political parties, we might not be able to internally influence the election of candidates.

And if we don’t pay membership fees, we are making the political process an open sesame for the shylocks a.k.a. political god fathers.

If ̂their candidates should be elected, of course, they become òṣómàáló to our commonwealth.

Aren’t we looking forward to taking money and other empowerment benefits from the politicians. For those of us who can receive and still vote their conscience, please do. But for people who couldn’t, please don’t.

We are not educating ourselves about the political process and politicians enough.

Let’s make it a point of duty to make our youth understand they must not be foot soldiers for any politician.

Etc, etc…
