Oriki! – Adewale Sobowale

People had been saying that if someone wanted to hear their oriki, they should attempt to swim in the murky, slime-infested waters of Nigerian politics.

So, it’s been detected that the PDP contestant in the last presidential elections is not a Nigerian.

I should have known, too!

Anyone who sees this Buhari government as not doing well must be a foreigner.

Let’s look at it: Atiku served in the Customs and Excise Department. During duty, he was the commandant at Murtala Mohammed Airport when Buhari was head of state.

Buhari’s government initiated a change of currency, but then, the change was only for ordinary citizens. During the change, Major Jokolo, as he then was, who happened to be Buhari’s ADC, caused 35 suitcases suspected to contain money to be brought in.

The suitcases were not allowed to be checked by a government that imprisoned the great Fela for currency trafficking.

The said Atiku rose to become the governor of Adamawa State, where he was picked by OBJ to serve as his vice president. I thought the qualifications for elections for the vice President and President were the same.

The same Atiku had been contesting for the presidency for quite a while. I’m unaware that he didn’t disclose his place of birth to INEC, the electoral body.

When President Yar’adua died without leaving a letter for his vice to act in his absence, there could have been a constitutional crisis that resulted in Nigeria not having a legitimate president.

However, the crisis stemmed from the tide of a so-called theory of necessity through which Jonathan became president.

But then, Atiku has been responsible for many ills people are seeing as the failings of this government.

Check out the instability in the country; you don’t have to look far before you see it’s Atiku’s work

The increase in VAT to be paid by consumers is suspected to be Atiku’s handiwork. I hear petrol is scarce in some parts of Lagos. You’ll discover it’s Atiku’s handiwork if you care to check.
