If I’m not mistaken, he went into the Grammar School some years after I left the place. I never even knew him until I started living with my pals at 61, Ibadan Street, (East), EB.
However, what made us click was his being an unspoilt child in spite of his being a last born. Thanks to his parents who did not spare the rod and spoil the child.
I’m always embarrassed by his sirring me. But then, he was brought up to respect elders.
In those days of humble beginnings, he was always there. He wasn’t just there, he provided a lot of encouragement
Of course, when the skies, more often than not, became brighter, we did enjoy together. As young as he then was, he had a sense of direction.
He is a great listener. Maybe that’s why he was wiser and I dare say smarter than his age.
