Nigeria moves to streamline migration!

National Inland Waterways Authority of Nigeria are combining with the Nigerian Immigration Service to curb irregular migration by some Nigerians through the waterways.

The Waterways Authority stated that both agencies pulled the stunt when Mr Joseph Dada, the Comptroller of Immigration Service in charge of Lagos Seaports and Marine Command, visited the Eng. Sarat Braimah NIWA Lagos Area Manager on Thursday.

Dada stated that a strategic partnership with the waterway’s regulator would help the service achieve its mandate better.

“We have some challenges on the waterways even though we do patrols. Collaborating with NIWA will guarantee stronger waterway operations.”

On her part, Braimah was receptive to the idea of strategic collaborations with the immigration service. She emphasised that both agencies were working for the common good of Nigeria and its citizens.
