Nigeria has finally launched a farming project for the youth.
This is a step in the right direction.
Since it’s for the youth, could the ministry put in place the things that will not make them abandon the farms for the city?
It’s a long list but if done the government will be in a win-win situation.
The participants must be accommodated in their own apartments. I’m thinking of farm estates.
They must be given credit facilities.
They must be attached to agricultural extension officers who will cater for their well-being.
The farm estates should have electricity.
There should be internet facilities on the farm estates.
Each farm estate should have a recreation club.
Each of the estates should have silos for preservation.
The road to each farm should be motorable so that taking farm products to the city won’t be a problem.
There should be schools within a reasonable distance of each farm estate.
I’m assuming there’ll be water supply.
A former governor from the southwest who is in the Senate could be asked to be a consultant. He practised mechanized farming successfully.
If young people are provided with these facilities, they would think twice before looking for non-existent white-collar jobs in the city.

If your recommendations are heeded, Nigeria should bank on food security in the next few years. Nice one.
Thank you sir.
