The Nigeria Immigration Service has prevented 14 internationally flagged persons of interest from entering the country.
The Nation reports that this marks a significant step in Nigeria’s battle against terrorism and cross-border crime. The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced it over the weekend.
While speaking at the unveiling of the Modernizing Nigeria Immigration Service (MoNIS) Workforce Project, the minister praised the NIS officers, saying, “I am proud to say that the Nigerian Immigration Service is now doing business in an extraordinary way. From all indications, it s now positioned to compete with the best services in the world and defend the integrity of our nation.”
