I read it somewhere yesterday morning that the ruling general in Nigeria would be addressing the nation yesterday. In my nationalistic enthusiasm, I didn’t bother to cross check from other sources.
Some may question my claims to being nationalistic. I don’t have any excuse for being a patriot. Indeed, it’s those who believe you can only be patriotic when you’re on the side of the powers that be that tend to. I learnt to question my situation in life quite a while ago. And if I happen to be on the wrong side of the government of the day, so be it, as long as I satisfy my conscience.
So, as I was saying before the digression, I wouldn’t think it’s too much to call out our general to address the nation. That will be, of course, if he really has the interest of the average Nigerian at heart which I tend to doubt, anyway.
By the way, we must congratulate the federal government for listening to the voice of reason by arranging to import the COVID 19 herbal drug from Madagascar.
I understand even the drug testing agency in Madagascar is yet to approve its efficacy in treating the scourge. That could be due to various factors. But I believe the way to go for Nigeria is having NAFDAC test its efficacy.
At the same time, we should continue looking inwards for a Nigerian cure!
