Even though I’m yet to receive the call, I can’t joke with my bible. It’s both a sword and a book.
When a person is besieged by the vicissitudes of life, when he is fighting against spiritual cum human forces, when he needs reassurance, then he needs not a physical sword but a spiritual one.
That’s the bible.
As a book, it’s good to read the stories of what is now the Israeli nation.
I was therefore not surprised when the honourable minister of agriculture, Mr Audu Ogbe was reported as saying that Nigeria now has plenty of rice but no bags.
It reminds me of the fourteenth chapter of the second book of kings in the holy bible.
There was a widow who had two children. But they didn’t have anything to eat, they only had a pot of oil in the whole house.However, when she met the prophet Elisha, he requested the widow to go and borrow a lot of containers.
He then ordered that having borrowed the containers, she should shut the doors with she and her two sons inside. Then she should start pouring the oil into all the containers.
She filled all the containers until there was no more.
Elisha then instructed her to go and sell the oil, pay her debts and live happily ever after with her children.
Is it not a miracle that a nation which was import dependent should now have so much that even available bags can not contain?
So Nigeria may now sell the rice, pay her debts and the people will live happily ever after.
Mr Ogbe is simply a modern day Prophet Elisha.
