Mo De’Do! – Adewale Sobowale

A friend and I just finished talking about an act of great disrespect. One thing about the act is the fact that we keep on committing it.

And the act?

You know dodo is very sweet. We go out of our way to make a rhyme out of dodo.

Mo de’Do!
Mo de’Do!
Mo de’Do!
Mo je dodo tan!
Mo f’owo dodo
P’omo oni dodo
N’idodo!

What a mark of great disrespect to dodo. A snack food. One may have it garnishing rice. It also goes with beans.

Either way, it steals the show!

If one decides to have just dodo, chai, one may not want to have any other meal apart from dodo. It’s so sweet!

When one is going from Ibadan to Ife, one can’t miss the town of Ikire. The town has been made popular by dodo. Their own dodo is usually made with palm oil. A little bit of pepper is added to it.

It’s saved so many from hunger.

Could we just stop the act of rubbing our dodoish hands on the navel of the dodo seller?
