I understand Iyiola Omisore has declared his intention to go the APC way!
In the first instance and before people start manufacturing any insinuation, I just thought I should make it clear that I’m not a supporter of the PDP!
However, a lot of horse trading must have taken place before Omisore’s declaration. When we look at Nigeria’s political terrain, there are some people whose declaration means a lot of votes.
Omisore happens to be one, especially given the unenviable political situation in which Osun state has found itself.
Yes, the state has found itself in a position where it has to choose between the deep blue sea and the ocean.
Omisore apparently went to the higher bidder. I understand his sins with the anti corruption body, EFCC, are on the verge of being forgiven. He is to have his international passport which had been seized by the body released.
Furthermore, he will have two commissionership slots in the APC government and he is to get an automatic ticket to the Senate.
What’s as good as all these for a self centered politician?
It is true there are pockets of resistance from some inconsequential members. But they remain just that- inconsequential!
Some of them might even be unfortunate to lose their lives. Oh well, it’s all in the cause of politics.
But then, what does the common man stand to gain?
