Letter to Buhari! – Adewale Sobowale

Your ‘unexcellent’ excellency,

You’ve already proved your points. In proving these points, you’ve succeeded in teaching Nigerians some very valuable lessons

The first lesson you have taught us is that discipline starts from within. That is, it starts from our various homes. Expecting a president to discipline us is erroneous.

The second is that you’ve shown us that soldiers are not necessarily good in political offices. In fact, we should have had this in our medulla oblongata given the fact that we’ve had a very long military rule.

But then, the saying is true that if someone’s punishment is in Lagos and he happens to be in far away Sokoto, sooner than later, they will be directed to their punishment.

Another lesson you’ve taught us is to be more discerning. When you chose ‘change’ as your slogan, we ought to have asked if it was change for the better or worse.

But then, we wanted discipline!

I’m sure you must know in your heart that you have nothing to offer Nigeria. At least, you’ve proved your point that you could be an unpresidential president.

Your silence to most issues concerning Nigeria and Nigerians is criminally loud. Under your watch, Nigeria has hardly been peaceful. There’s hardly any day that needless murders are not committed.

What about kidnappings, robberies and rape cases?

You’re definitely not in charge any more. I even doubt if you’ve ever been in charge.

I definitely can’t ask you to leave while the ovation is loud. That’s because nobody is clapping for you.

Okay!

Those idiots who’re benefiting from the chaos that Nigeria has become might be applauding your maladministration.

Since democracy is meant to satisfy the majority, and you yourself know you are incompetent, what’s the next step?

Resign now!!!
