Nigerian politicians keep on springing surprises. They keep on being sources of marvel to the outside world.
To Nigerians, whether they are inside or outside the country’s shores, they are beyond being shocked by the politicians. They all know that, isaluwala ologbo, ati keran je ni.
That is, the performance of ablution by a cat normally ends in stealing meat from the pot!
What can shock Nigerians?
Is it failed promises?
Could it be corruption?
Is it injustice?
Abeegi, second base jare!
If a federal legislator to-be in the person of one Bashiru Dawodu decides to present his certificate of return to MC Oluomo, I should have thought it’s enough warning for his constituents.
Now, the mother of it all is that Mr Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State governor-elect has allegedly gone to present his certificate of return to Messers Adeboye and Olukoya, both respected GOs.
I would expect the governor elect to present the certificate of return to the imams, and to the chief priests of Obatala, Oro, Sango, Obaluaye and all the other deities.
However, a serious person would have been busying himself getting facts on the state he wants to rule. He would even have established various committees to that effect.
But then, Nigeria is said to be the most religious nation on earth. That’s, of course, not saying we’re the Godliest!
