The effects of violence are still visible outside a hotel housing asylum seekers in Rotherham, even after days after the riots.

Gulf Today reports that many residents are still in shock and worried about immigration.

Clive Wingate who lives near the Holiday Inn Express said, “it was terrifying. When they were lighting the bins to push into the building, where there were people inside, what were their intentions.”

Hundreds of men draped in the English flag gathered outside the hotel. They were chanting, “kick them out.” The outnumbered police came under fire from bricks and burning objects.

the rots which were the worst n te country since 2011started after the stabbing of three girls on July29. People were misinformed into believing the suspect was a Muslim asylum seeker. Even when the police corrected the misinformation, anti-immigration riots still erupted for over a week.

A police cordon is still at the Holiday Day Inn in Rotherham marking it as a “crime scene.”
