Reading Festus Adedayo in the Cable today, I understand people are already “dressing” in their birthday suits to protest their inability to get cash from the banks.
Looking at the matter poetically, is Nigeria itself not naked?
If you happen to be in a country where, in spite of the recurrent problems of joblessness, light, water, etc, we’re now engulfed in more needless problems like that of getting cash from the banks and not being able to get your PVC, won’t it be right to say the matter has passed the stage of prayers?
Isn’t it a common prayer that God should bless us with money?
Now, thank God for answered prayers but the money is uncollectible! Should we blame God?
Amúniṣẹl’Ọ́hun làwọn arábi yî!
Can Nigeria, at this stage, dare think of protecting its citizens from external attack?
Only big men can afford three square meals in a day.
Only the houses of the wealthy have regular power supply.
Only the children of the powers that be can get well–paying jobs.
Only the influential can lay claim to security.
Indeed, Nigeria is naked!
