‘If The Situation Arises!’ – Adewale Sobowale

One of the media aides of the Nigerian President was asked on Channels tv why Mr Buhari has not deemed it fit to address the nation on COVID 19. He promptly answered that his principal will definitely address the people, ‘If the situation arises.’

He went on to lambast those calling on the president to exercise some unusual braveness and emerge from his media distancing to address the nation.

You, Nigerians, should please fear God and not say because someone has come to pity you in dealing with, sorry, ruling your country, be making irrational demands from the man.

Haba!

Who amongst you can honestly say he has not heard that the virus, COVID 19 tends to affect men much more than women. Abi you’ve not heard it affects people who are fifty years plus than those under fifty.

If the president says he is not ready until more people have died from the virus, is it a sin? After all, Umaru Dikko, during the second republic, said Nigerians were yet to be eating from the dust bins.

Please let the man be. The media aide, being one of the most rational people on earth, asked whether by virtue of the fact that other countries had been addressed by their presidents, the scourge had left their countries. A very sensible person who doesn’t realize the president of a nation is the face of the nation.

My conclusion after watching the program is Nigeria is yet to have a presiding President neither does it have a nationalistic one!
