Homeless migrants who have been living in tents at Cesar Chavez Park in Barrio Logan have been left wondering about what to do next as their encampment has been cleared out.

ABC News reports that the Park is empty after Harbor Police gave the residents a Thursday deadline to vacate the place. Many of them had nowhere to go.

The park served as a safe place and a community for the migrants. Many who lived in the park would leave the place for work in the mornings and return to their makeshift homes.

Meanwhile, local activists and organizations are working around the clock to help.

Ian Seruelo, the San Diego Immigrant Rights Consortium Chair, said they are working to assist the individuals and their belongings.

“Many of them accumulated some personal belongings. So, it’s very hard for them to move somewhere else since they have no transportation.”
