According to a Harris campaign official, Vice President Kamala Harris will not join former President Trump on Fox News’ debate stage on September 4.
ABC News reports that the official said Harris’s agreement to a future debate with the former President depends on his showing up at the September 10 debate hosted by ABC News. While Harris’ campaign is willing to have conversations about future debates, they must be scheduled after September 10.
Meanwhile, Vice President Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, will be on a five-day tour that will visit several battleground states. On Thursday, the duo gave remarks at a local United Auto Workers office in Wayne, Michigan, championing “the collective.”
Walz praised Harris’ leadership, saying, “She stands on the side of the American people and the American worker. She’s the one who took on the predators, the fraudsters, the transnational gangs.”
Vice President Harris commented on Thursday evening about former President Trump’s announcement that he would debate her on ABC News next month that, “Well, I’m glad that he finally agreed to a debate on September 10th. I’m looking forward to it and hope he shows up.”
