Fiji is expected to have a fully digital immigration system by the end of 2025.
The Fiji Times reports that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica commented at the launch of Grant Thornton Audit Assurance, Tax and Advisory Services (GT) at the GPH in Suva on Tuesday.
He said the government was reviewing immigration policies to better align to the needs of a modern economy, simplifying business processes to attract talent and encouraging Fijians abroad to return with expertise and investment.
He said, “We hope by the end of 2025 we will have a fully digital immigration system to service the country’s needs to rebuild resilience against global uncertainties.
“This shift aims to create and increase transparency and accountability across public and private sectors.”
He said the government was focused on digitizing its services, expanding digital tools for businesses, and developing policies for fintech, e-commerce, and digital communication in the country.
