Abeokuta where some are bemoaning their unfortunate situation, some are thanking their ‘ori’. Different strokes for different folks.
The present regime is set to make abeokuta a befitting capital. The whole city is just like a giant construction site, at least, in those places where demolitions are taking place.
If the governor was not known as a celebrated accountant, people would have mistaken him for a demolition, sorry construction engineer.
however, what interests me most is the case of ‘scavengers’. They seem not to have had it so good.
Scavengers are those people who go around picking those things we consider useless to enrich themselves.
They’ve been having so much to pick, from corrugated roofing sheets to iron rods. Forget about those busybodies who are saying people are being thrown into the unemployment market.
But i believe those shop owners who are now without shops could temporarily be accommodated in what used to be the mini-secretariat complex in front of OPIC at oke ilewo in Abeokuta.
The trade fair complex at oke mosan is another place that could be used temporarily.
Given the fact that this is a listening government, and the further fact that the yuletide is here, i know it is already done.
