Canada waives fees on permits for Haitians!

Haitians arriving Canada for studies and work will not have to pay any money. Those already in Canada that need status extension will also be exempted from paying any money. 

Global News reports that the authorities in Canada are waiving any money to be paid by Haitians amid worsening violence in their country. 

The federal government announced that those edible include foreign national family members of Canadians, regardless of their ⁰nationality, who arrived as temporary residents through assisted departures out of Haiti

Immigration Minister, Marc Miller said “We ate deeply concerned about the well-being of the people in Haiti. The measures announced today will make it easier for family numbers who fled Haiti to stay in Canada with their families and make Haitian nationals to work and study in a safe environment.”

According to the government, there are about 44,000 Haitians in Canada with temporary resident status. 

Haiti has been beset by gang violence as it facez a political vacuum. A new prime minister was named by the transition council in April.
