It’s so nice demanding people to walk their talk. Of course, people in Nigeria must be used to politicians who would promise heaven on earth before election only to keep themselves prisoners in the government house after election.
Don’t mind my giving a political example but it’s my belief that we either stand for something or we fall for anything. While I may not be contesting for the position of even a messenger, I think I owe myself the aspect of standing with the people.
I’m used to writing. Through my writings, I do tell stories. But then, I really don’t have the money to engage good editors for my works.
One of my Facebook friends once promised he could help me with the editing aspect. I decided to call his bluff on a work I’m doing.
Interestingly, his space on the globe has been affected by bushfires. Apart from that, I was to learn not too long ago that he’s a cancer patient.
I, therefore, thought he might be faced with his own personal challenges and that he might not have time for me. But I just decided to ask him.
Rod Shehan has been so splendid. His world view has taught me a lot about patience and understanding. By the way, the amount he asked for is better left unmentioned.
That’s because the amount can not even buy a meal. According to him, he’s doing it not for sympathy but empathy.
I just can’t thank him enough!
