I wonder if Nigeria’s so-called leaders have any sense of shame.
Reading the newspapers, one item I can’t ever forget is where the Nigerian leader is said to have visited the APC leader. He visited him, not in his country home in Nigeria, but somewhere in the United Kingdom.
One interesting fact is that both of them are in the UK to see their doctors. That is, they’ve gone on medical tourism.
Let’s ask some pertinent questions.
How much was voted to equip the Aso Rock clinic which Buhari should have attended? How much does Nigeria vote for health at the various levels of government?
Not only that, what is the percentage of the amount voted for health in the budget?
Then, we must ask if the money is being spent on health.
Isn’t it a shame that two significant elements in Nigeria are abroad for medical tourism?
How many common men could jet abroad for medical treatment?
The earlier we resuscitate our primary health care the better.
Wouldn’t it be a good idea if people in power and their associates are frowned upon when they go for medical tourism?
Nigerians should start thinking now, 2023 is just in the corner!
