A Nigerian senator has called for a nationwide debate to replace the current two-term, four-year presidential system with a single 16-year tenure.
Methinks the idea is brilliant. However, I would love to propose a couple of amendments.
Let’s make it a life presidency
Then, we should make it hereditary.
You know, anybody who has chosen not to see the achievements of the present dealers is simply blind.
They must be blind not to see kwashiokored Nigerians.
They must be blind not to see the lack of drugs in hospitals.
They must be blind not to see the poor education children are getting.
They must be blind not to see the lack of electricity.
They must be blind not to see Nigerians living in penury
They must be blind not to see the obvious insecurity.
But, succor is almost at hand. Elections are at here. Politicians will go into the nooks and crannies to distribute stomach infrastructure.
I guess that’s enough for four years.
