Baba Olu! – Adewale Sobowale

I try to be mysterious if not mischievous while trying to profile people. But this gentleman is probably in a world of his own.

He’s so jovial and realistic. In short, he’s my type of man.

He used to be a parent of one of my pupils. When his son was in the hostel, the father hardly bothered me.

You know to most parents their children are the best. They always want preferential treatment for them.

This man, as much as he loves his son, did not want him to be given a preferential treatment. He wanted him to be treated like every other child.

There’re some things, apart from housemaster-parent relationship, that brought us together.

I love current affairs. I would normally contribute to issues on the Radio Station where he is a director of news, if he hasn’t been promoted to the exalted post of General Manager.

We used to attend the same church.

One other thing was that we did have our social meetings.

Even while here, he calls me and I also give him calls. He’s so much interested in my progress.

What else would any teacher want from a parent of his former pupil?

Mr Niyi Amusan is a very responsible man!
