Another gender option for naturalization!

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services has provided a third-gender option.

The USCIS website says Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, has been revised to provide a third-gender option. “X” represents “Another Gender Identity.” The organization is also updating guidance in the USCIS Policy Manual to account for the revision.

According to the USCIS, the edition will be the first USCIS form to include the “X” gender option. Applicants with pending Form N-400 have been advised to request updating their forms.

New applicants will have X as a gender option in their forms.
