I hear the Nigerian House of Representatives is considering establishing yet another university.
While I’m not a book haram, I think the federal government already has more than it can chew regarding schools. I tend to think that universities should be self-sustaining. At least we know that if it’s not possible for universities to be profitable, we wouldn’t have a proliferation in the country.
That apart, I hear the proposed university would be named after the incumbent president.
That’s a smart move.
Because the president has made food so cheap that even other countries are importing foodstuffs from Nigeria, all Universities of agriculture should be named after him.
Considering the president’s struggles to ensure that gas is affordable and his success in that endeavour, all petroleum universities should be named after him.
Considering that the naira competes favourably with its counterpart in other countries, we should name the Central Bank of Nigeria after him.
I understand Minna Airport, a road in Abuja, and the National Assembly Library have been named after the president for his good deeds.
Incidentally, Mrs Remi Tinubu has also been honoured by the Ooni of Ife by having a 2.7 km road, a pavilion, and a golden statue of the first lady on the campus.
To save Nigeria the time of repeating naming ceremonies, we should all agree to name Nigeria after the Tinubus!
I believe he has earned it. He has succeeded in educating us about the health benefits of fasting and making us recognize the benefits of walking.
