We must beware of animalnappers. Nigerians now believe this is the year of animals.
In fact, some who hated animals are now looking into the establishment of zoos. For some Nigerians, anything that brings money is worth investing in.
For those of us that have our faiths sealed in the flimsy protection of this court, we are even in a period of extra danger. We’re used to our impending doom at the hands of butchers.
But with Nigerians’ newly discovered fondness for our fellow animals, they will soon start coming for us. The other time, it was said that one of our brothers, a snake swallowed some money.
The recent gist making the rounds is that yet another brother, a monkey, has swallowed a whopping sum of money.
Some crazy men might just decide to start slaughtering animals in order to check whether money would be found in our bowels. I counted at least five men who came to price us yesterday.
And there are some who, if given the chance, would animalnap us.
Maybe we should approach our medicine men to make preventive medicine for us. Yes, that should be the right thing. We will make medicine that we should not die in our youth.
