28 Days… – Adewale Sobowale

Lekki Toll gate, Lagos

Mmm…

Nigeria is just cool. I mean for crime, misgovernance, and every other type of problem that won’t make a nation prosper.

Ok, 28 days after some idiotic soldiers went to attack some defenseless protesters in Lekki, everyone has been ‘calm’.

The national assembly, as long as their remunerations are not affected, hardly bother. The Aso Rock tenant is yet to be aware.

The Lagos State house of assembly in whose jurisdiction the undoable happened is also sitting pretty.

Why won’t they?

Sanwoolu and the army are creating a spectacle at the Commission of enquiry. They’re actually entertaining us by trading blames.

In saner societies, Sanwoolu doesn’t need anyone to tell him to resign. So do those in command of the army.

But then, in Nigeria, jobs are so scarce that nobody resigns from a public post, even to enable justice take its cause.

The people themselves are a confused lot. If not, they would have been asking for explanations and eventually seek the removal of guilty public officials.

Here we are!
